Event: Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival

Place: Flushing Meadows Park, Queens

Date: August 6-7, 2016 (Saturday-Sunday)
Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Come cheer on Columbia’s Dragon Boat Team, the Columbia Lion Dragons, as we compete in our third Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in Flushing Meadows Park.  We will be defending our #1 position in the Education Race and will be competing in three other races.  If you are interested in paddling for us – contact Pauline.

Aside from races, other festival events include traditional Chinese arts, martial arts demonstrations, the traditional Dragon dance, musical and other diverse performances and demonstrations of folk arts and crafts.

An International food court, and booths staffed by sponsors of the event, many of whom will be giving away promotional items, and many community-based organizations participating help make for a unique, action packed, multi-cultural, New York weekend.

Over 188 teams will be competing from across the US and Canada and are expecting over 50,000 people at this two day event.

Bring your friends, bring your family but most important – bring your Columbia spirit!
