Al Eng is a senior advisor to major financial institutions, investment firms, global banks and technology companies with broad experience in corporate strategy, marketing, new business development, private equity and alternative investments.
He was previously the Chief Investment Officer at Citi Wealth Management Services Global Markets and Banking. Al also served as a member of the Citigroup Corporate Task Forces on TARP/Treasury, Risk Management, Regulations and Reengineering & Restructuring. As member of Citi Strategy Committee he initiated a firm wide cross-business Global Payments and Internet & Mobile Strategy.
Al’s senior leadership positions include Chair Global Institutional and Private Bank Product Investment Committee, Head of the Global Investment Products, Alternatives and Deal Pricing Review. Al was a member of the Salomon- Smith Barney- Citigroup Merger Team and was responsible for developing the institutional business strategy, global funds, marketing and led the Institutional Liquidity business. He served on the Board of Directors of the Citi Institutional Liquidity Funds- Dublin, Sigma Investments Caymans and Salomon Smith Barney Alternatives Investments Structures.
Al was a member of the Citi Corporate Revenue Task Force created by the President and Vice Chairman which improved Citi earnings at a critical period and developed a successful 5-year strategic plan. Al also was a key member of the financial and business planning group heading a number of global firm wide strategic initiatives including Affluent Strategy and the global expansion of Citibanking, Cards and Online banking in countries across Asia, Japan, Australia and Europe.
Al is a graduate of Columbia Business School earning an MBA in Finance (Beta Gamma Sigma) and School of Engineering and Applied Science with an MS in Electrical Engineering.
